River Fly
What is River Fly?

The Riverfly Partnership is a network of more than sixty partner organisations, representing anglers, conservationists, entomologists, scientists, water course managers and relevant authorities, working together to:
- Protect the water quality of our rivers;
- Further the understanding of Riverfly populations
- And actively conserve river habitats.
The Wear Rivers Trust pro-actively supports these aims by providing training workshops and encourages volunteers to monitor their stretch of river throughout the Wear catchment. Several training workshops have already been run and we have a dynamic Riverfly team; please contact the Project Officer for further information on how you can get involved.
Don’t worry. You don’t have to be an entomologist and all training and equipment is supplied!
If the insects are in the way, you can move them!!
